I’ve always been driven by a curiosity about  human health and the technologies that shape it. My journey began with a degree in biological anthropology, where I explored the intersection of biology, technology, and culture—and how each has influenced the evolution of human health.

Wanting to understand health at the individual level, I pursued certification in medical laboratory science and spent nearly five years working in the clinical laboratory. There, I gained firsthand experience supporting patient care through precise, results-driven work.

Today, I’m channeling that foundation into a Master's in Microbial Biotechnology, where I can support human health from yet another angle—one that integrates innovation, science, and business for a real-world impact.

Experience in the Master's in Microbial Biotechnology Program

I started the MMB program in Fall of 2025, and I have been constantly pushed outside my comfort zone to develop new skills and to use my existing skillset in new and challenging ways. I have leveraged my background in plant genetics and clinical laboratory science to address real-world biotechnology challenges, developed a strong professional network through engagement with industry leaders and experts, and gained exposure to a broad range of sectors across the biotechnology landscape. Contributing to industry-sponsored projects in collaboration with an experienced mentor has strengthened teamwork, public speaking, and project coordination skills in a dynamic, interdisciplinary setting.
